Basil Jicama Fries
A delicious Paleo, Vegan, and Whole 30 approved snack or side dish are these basil jicama fries. They have a crispy exterior, a soft interior, and an intense flavor of fresh basil. An ideal guilt-free substitute for regular fries
Ingredients:
- 2 large jicama roots, peeled and cut into fries
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 425F 220C
In a large mixing bowl, toss the jicama fries with olive oil, basil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper until evenly coated
Spread the seasoned jicama fries in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the fries are golden brown and crispy, turning them once halfway through the cooking time for even browning
Remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving
Serve the Basil Jicama Fries as a delicious and healthy Paleo snack or side dish
