Fried Tofu with Spicy Ginger Sauce
This recipe for Fried Tofu with Spicy Ginger Sauce is a tasty and simple dish to prepare. It features crispy tofu combined with a spicy sauce made of ginger, garlic, soy sauce, and sriracha. Ideal as part of a vegetarian meal or as a quick weeknight supper.
Ingredients:
- 1 block tofu, pressed and sliced
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon sriracha sauce
- 1 green onion, thinly sliced for garnish
Instructions:
Spread cornstarch over the tofu slices
In a skillet set over medium-high heat, warm the vegetable oil
Fry tofu for 34 minutes on each side, or until golden brown on both sides
Take out and place aside
Add the ginger and garlic to the same skillet
Cook until fragrant, one to two minutes
Add the sriracha sauce, maple syrup, rice vinegar, and soy sauce
Simmer for two to three minutes
Put the fried tofu back in the skillet and drizzle the hot ginger sauce over each slice
Before serving, garnish with sliced green onions
